What you're waiting through
Months of silence.
Then one line changes.
A case can sit on the same status for half a year. TorchLight keeps checking through all of it, and keeps a dated record of every change — so you always know where things stand and how long it's been.

How it works
Add it once.
Then forget about it.
Add your receipt number
The 13-character number on the receipt notice USCIS mailed you. Give it a nickname if you like.
IOE0912345678TorchLight keeps checking
Your cases are checked periodically in the background against the official USCIS Case Status API. No need to keep opening the app.
Hear about it when it moves
When a status changes you get a notification, and the change is added to that case's history.
Features
Made for the
long wait.
Quiet in the background, clear when you open it.
-
Status-change notifications
Background refresh means you hear about a change without checking. iOS decides exactly when the app runs, so it isn't instant.
-
Every case in one place
Your green card, your work permit, your parents' petition — side by side, each color-coded by where it stands.
-
A dated history of every change
See how many days you've been waiting and what happened when — in English and Spanish, as USCIS provides it.
-
Home screen widget
The case you care about most, without opening anything.
-
Visa Bulletin
Employment and family charts, and a check of whether your priority date is current.
Inside the app
Clear at a glance.

Your case is
your business.
No account, and your cases stay on your phone. Your receipt number is sent only to look up its status from USCIS — the privacy policy explains exactly how.
- No sign-up, email or password
- Case list stored on your device
- No tracking, no analytics, no data brokers
In your language
The whole app, in seven languages.
FAQ
Good
questions.
What is the app called on my phone?
On the App Store it's USCIS Case Tracker TorchLight. Once installed, it shows up on your home screen as Case Tracker, with the Statue of Liberty icon.
Is TorchLight an official USCIS app?
No. TorchLight is an independent app. It gets case status from the official USCIS Case Status API, but it is not affiliated with or endorsed by USCIS or the U.S. government.
Is it free?
Yes, you can track your cases for free. TorchLight Pro unlocks tracking more cases at once — see the App Store page for current options.
Which cases can I track?
Any case with a USCIS receipt number — for example I-485, I-765, I-131, I-130, I-140 and N-400. The number is printed on the receipt notice USCIS mails you.
Can it track my NVC or consular case?
Not at the moment. Once a case moves from USCIS to the National Visa Center it is handled by the State Department, and TorchLight only tracks USCIS cases.
Does TorchLight give legal advice?
No. It shows you the status USCIS reports. For questions about your case, talk to a qualified immigration attorney.
Something isn't working. How do I get help?
Visit the support page, or use Send Feedback in the app's Settings.
